Affiliate marketing
(also known as partner marketing or CPA marketing)
A type of online marketing in which affiliates (ad spaces) generate traffic for advertisers. Affiliates are rewarded for each target action performed by users they bring.
Program
(also known as affiliate program)
An advertiser’s card in the affiliate network’s catalog. It includes the company description and terms of cooperation: Target action type, allowed traffic types, reward rates, and ad creatives.
Affiliate network
A platform that connects advertisers and publishers. Advertisers place their affiliate programs to boost orders and traffic, and publishers join programs to commercialize their activities.
Target action
An action the advertiser expects from a user. The most popular types of target actions are sale (CPS), lead (CPL), and app installation (CPI).
Traffic
The number of users who have visited a website over a specific period (usually over the course of a month). The word "traffic" generally means a publisher’s audience.
Traffic source
A type of platform where a publisher places ads. It may be a Telegram channel, personal blog, cashback service, contextual ad, etc.
